This workshop is held in a heated tent. Your hands may be in and out of water throughout the workshop.
The latest in my series of Natural Dye Intensive workshops, Tannin Tour will explore the uses of tannins in the natural dye pot. Tannins come from a variety of sources, including sumac, oak galls, pomegranate and fustic. They are typically neutral in color, but will drastically affect the color of adjacent dyes. They are also an important element in dyeing cellulose fibers.
We will explore a variety of tannins on a variety of fibers, and record everything on a reference color card. As always, we will dye a usable amount of yarn to take home.
