Garneting is a process where textile scraps are rescued for reuse by returning them back to a fibrous state for spinning and/or blending once more. We’ll be using a wide array of scraps (wool, thrums, yarns, and some surprises) for glorious results in your intended yarns.
Students will practice garneting with varied textures and materials, then create and spin their own tweed blend for knitting, weaving, or crochet.
Skill Level: Beginner with some experience
Prerequisites: Ability to spin a stable yarn on a spindle or wheel
Homework: None
