Spend a relaxing day learning the basics of wool embroidery (or crewel wool embroidery) with Stuart Moores Textiles' plant dyed wool embroidery floss and fabric. We will cover all of the stitching techniques necessary to create a small embroidered motif inspired by 18th century wool embroidery.
Each student with receive all of the materials needed to create a motif in class as well as a pattern and all of the materials needed to make a large embroidered pin keep (biscornu) at home.
SKILL LEVEL: Absolute Beginner
PREREQUISITES: the ability to read a pattern and follow written and spoken instructions. Any previous embroidery experience is a plus though not required.

Student should bring: A pair of thread snips and a pair of tweezers. A light and reading glasses if students generally use them for crafting and a seat cushion if they think they will need one to sit for 8 hours.
