Workshop Info

Dip stitches add fantastic texture and creative possibilities to your knitted creations. They’re made by drawing up loops from the knitted rows below the current one. In this workshop, we’ll make several swatches to experiment with stitch patterns that use dip stitches using one or two yarn colors. We’ll talk about methods for creating dip stitches, ways to decrease the extra loops created by dip stitches, and the importance of tensioning correctly. You’ll also receive a copy of the Fizzy Mitts pattern so that you can continue practicing dip stitches when you return home.

SKILL LEVEL:  Advanced Beginner

PREREQUISITES:  Knits and purls, counting rows and stitches

There is no material fee for this workshop.

Students should bring:  

-Several colors of scrap yarn for swatching in fingering, sport, or DK weight yarn

-Double-pointed needles or circular needles that correspond to your yarn weight for either knitting flat or knitting in the round

-crochet hook

Students may also want to bring a battery operated task light, if needed
