Workshop Info

Learning to pick up stitches along the edge of knitting is invaluable for all kinds of projects – sweaters, blankets, modular knits, entrelac, and more. A related skill is picking up one stitch at a time while adding on a knitted-on border such as applied i-cord or knitted-on lace edges. In this workshop, we’ll make log cabin squares which you could use as coasters or dishcloths to practice picking up stitches and adding easy, decorative borders. You'll receive a handout with tips and tricks.

SKILL LEVEL:  Beginner with some experience

There is no material fee for this workshop.

Students should bring:  

-40-50 yds total of DK or worsted weight yarn in several colors, wool or cotton, wound and ready to knit
-1 set of straight or circular needles that correspond to your yarn weight (e.g. US Size 6-8)
-2 double-pointed needles in the same needle size
-ruler or measuring tape

Students may also want to bring a battery operated task light, if needed
