After a less than stellar year of college in the late 1960s I
started making and selling jewelry which continues to this day. I was taught to
knit by my mother and crochet by my high school boyfriend's grandmother years
earlier. How funny to think that all this came together about 6 years ago when
I turned my metalsmithing creativity to making shawl pins and other closures
which led to selling at sheep and wool festivals. I was back in the '60's!
As I was asked to be a mentor at The Gathering about five years
ago and figured that spinning was a logical next skill to tackle. I find
it the most peaceful, creative direction.
