the way you blend color and texture is really important to the technique you
use to spin, and on the resulting yarn.. There are a number of different ways
to blend colors in fiber, and each one produces a different result.
In this class students will learn different blending techniques using hand combs, drum carders, blending boards and hackles. Techniques for each tool will be taught, as well as general color blending tricks.
Materials are: fiber for blending.
Bring to Class: Assorted fibers (combed top/roving, sparkle, etc.) and are
encouraged to bring a any fiber tools (hand combs, hackles drum carder and/or
blending board) if they own one!
Students can bring a wheel or spindle if they’d like to try spinning their prep right away, however spinning techniques will not be taught.
