If you love sock knitting,
this class is for you. In this day-long
class we’ll cover nearly a half dozen different heels – from riverbed to short
row, afterthought to heel first, sweet tomato to heel flap, and a bunch of
different variations. Making “mini
heels” we’ll practice the techniques from each and discuss how to substitute
one for another.
Skill Level: Intermediate: must know how to knit and purl, increase and decrease and work in the round in their preferred method.
Skills Covered: everything and anything regarding heel-work: short rows, slipped stitches, picking up stitches, heel flaps, cutting into knitting, afterthought heel, round heels, square heels, and much more.
Instructor will Provide: Worksheets, samples, mini-heel patterns, stitch markers.
Bring to Class: DK or worsted weight yarn, in at least 2 colors - make sure the yarn is light colored (to be able to see stitches) and not very fuzzy; should hold up well to unraveling, if necessary - and needles corresponding to yarn to get a “firm” fabric.
