What is meant
by terms like single drive, double drive, Scotch tension, and Irish
Tension? Does it matter? In this introductory wheel mechanics class,
you'll learn the basics: the parts of several kinds of spinning wheels, how
they work together, and what options you have. Ideal for the new wheel owner or
for those considering a wheel purchase, we'll demystify ratios, treadles, drive
bands, brake bands, and more. Bring your wheel if you have one, or look on with
instructor wheels if you don't.
Fiber will be supplied, and wheels with multiple drive systems will be present but we'll be focusing on yours, so bring your own if you have one.
Bring to Class: Spinning Wheel if you have one.
