In the modern world we gather our spinning knowledge from books and magazine, YouTube and DVDs here and there. We are very lucky to have so many sources but that kind of learning often leaves holes in our knowledge base.

In this class we’ll fill in as many gaps in your spinning knowledge as we can. The class is framed around 4 different drafting methods that will allow us to spin worsted to woolen and everything in between while delving into all different aspects of spinning tips and tricks, S/Z, directionality of combed top, long draw, joins, singles/plies, yarn energy, measuring your yarn, finishing your yarn – lots of the things that spinners think they should know but somehow missed.

Materials Information

Bring to Class:  Working spinning wheel, 4 bobbins (or something to wind singles onto), a lazy kate, niddy noddy (small is okay)
