Why sit around talking about making great images when we can hit the road (feet first) and learn as we shoot ? With the beautiful fairgrounds and fiber festival as our setting, this class will be an active opportunity for you to work on improving your image making skills while photographing in “real life” settings.
Gale will present a short intro talk and then we’ll head out to demonstrate techniques and photograph your knits or fiber in various settings. This will be an opportunity to learn about choosing photo settings, styling, backgrounds, reacting to locations and managing light as you find it.
This is a wonderful class if any of these are true:
• you love photography and want more confidence street shooting
• you want to improve your blog/Ravelry page/website
• you need to make attention grabbing images to go with your own designs & patterns
please note: this class covers less camera basics than others, so you should know how to use your camera. Beginners are welcome, as long as they are prepared to jump right in.
Students should bring to class:
- a digital camera- (point & shoot or a DSLR.)
Please review your manual and be able turn off your flash, and know how to change exposure settings. This is an important preparation to make!
- camera manual
-a media card for your camera
-freshly charged batteries or a spare set of batteries
-knitted/handcrafted project/ fiber to photograph
