Experience level : Suitable for beginners
Students will learn to weave a Knitting/Carry-All basket with rattan.
Techniques taught will include a filled base, weaving, shaping, rim scarfing and lashing. The basket is finished with over the shoulder Shaker tape straps to carry and support the knitting project within. This basket is suitable for beginners as well as those with some basketmaking experience. Basket Dimensions: 15" long x 5" wide x 10" high

Class Size - 12 Students
The Handspinner's Tool basket is 4" in Diameter and about 4" high and is meant to be hung on a spinning wheel to hold tools and/or oil for the spinning wheel. This basket is woven using very fine round reed. Students should be able to work with small fibers. Many round reed techniques including Japanese weave, 3 rod wale and a trac border will be taught.

Wendy G. Jensen is an award winning professional basketmaker living in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. She teaches workshops at many museums, craft schools and conventions, as well as her own studio in Great Barrington. Her work is also seen at several juried craft show and gallery exhibits around the US. Her work was most recently published in "500 Baskets" by Lark Books.
