“This is a spinning class which covers, cashmere, yak, camel, qiviut, llama, alpaca, mohair, angora and silk.  We discuss each animal’s geography, history and fiber properties.  We also spin samples from raw fiber, commercially prepared fiber and our own fiber preparations. The class includes wheel adjustments, spinning techniques and fiber preparation.  This is a very good introduction class for spinners who have been afraid to explore some of the luxury fibers. “

This is a full day class. Each participant must have a spinning wheel (in good working order) or a drop spindle.   Instructor will provide all handouts, fibers and the use of my fiber preparation equipment.

Carding

This class teaches the proper use of drum carders.  Participants will spin what they card to help improve their carding skills.  In the process of learning to card, this class teaches participants about fiber, breeds of sheep, spinning technique, and wheel adjustment.

This is a 3 hour class.The maximum class size is 15 participants. Each participant must bring a spinning wheel or a drop spindle. Instructor  will provide all handouts, fibers and the use of her  carding equipment.

This class teaches the proper use of hand-held combs.  Participants will spin what they comb to help improve their combing skills.  In the process of learning to comb, this class teaches participants about fiber, breeds of sheep, spinning technique, and wheel adjustment.

This is a 3 hour class.  The maximum class size is 20 participants.   Each participant must bring a spinning wheel or a drop spindle. Instructor  will provide all handouts, fibers and the use of her combing equipment.
