Felt A Vessel
Thursday October 13, 2011
9:00 am – 4:30 pm
Class Fee – $ 150.00
Class Size - 10 Students
Create a freestanding vessel, approximately 18” tall, using only wool roving. Curly and colorful dyed locks will be used to add a design before and after the wet felting process. We will use Karakul roving which felts into a hard, firm felt, capable of standing in shape without the use of stiffeners or other support. The technique used for creating a felted vessel is the same technique used in creating a felted hat, purse or slippers. The instructor will include samples of these designs, and discuss how to determine "felt-to-size".
Participants are encouraged to create their own design, or the instructor will offer several designs to choose from. No previous felting experience is required. Participants should bring a bath towel.
