Barn 27 - The Alpaca-Llama Breed Exhibit Barn
Barn 27 at the top of 4-H hill is a unique part of the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival. The barn offers visitors an up-close opportunity to interact with llamas, alpacas and a few rare fiber goat breeds. The barn is filled with volunteer farms that come to the festival to promote their livestock breed and talk about their farm activities involving alpacas, llamas or goats. Each farm brings their finest, friendliest animals as well as samples and displays of their farm.
Not only does the lama barn offer a unique livestock breed experience, the volunteer farms provide fiber and animal demonstrations throughout the weekend. A long time favorite activity is the Sunday morning Lama Parade immediately followed by the Leaping Lama contest! Children and adults alike will enjoy visiting Barn 27 and learning about llamas, alpacas and fiber goats.
Please see below for a list of our 2011 Volunteer Farm Exhibitors!
Through the weekend Barn 27 will provide spectators with free demonstrations that are related to llamas, alpacas and fiber goats. Please stop by and meet our soft, fiber animals!
