2009 Sheep and Wool Festival

Alpaca Fiber Sale Registration

General Information:

   We will be prescreening and weighing all fleeces before the sale.   Each fleece will be grouped according to age and quality, and assigned a price.  Only whole blankets will be accepted.  Please understand that this market caters to particularly experienced and educated spinners.  If the information included in the fleece bag does not agree with the quality of the fleece, we reserve the right to adjust the information and price, or reject the fleece from the sale.   We all benefit from high quality fleeces offered at fair prices. 

    All sales will be recorded with the Festival, and the New York Sheep and Wool Association will send the sales proceeds to each entrant.  Please make sure you include accurate information!

   Please  prepare three identical identification cards FOR EACH FLEECE ENTERED (see below).  Enclose two of the cards in each bag.  One card will accompany the sale and one will be kept for sales records.   The third card will serve as preregistration and should be mailed,  by October 10, 2009 to:

  Or, if you prefer, you can scan the identification card and email it to kwheelermiller@hotmail.com.  Include 'Alpaca Fleece Sale' in the subject area.  Your entry will be confirmed via return email.  Entry fees may be mailed.      

   Fleeces must be presented in clear plastic bags  that are easily opened.  Fleeces may be dropped off on Friday, October 16, 2009 between 3pm and 6pm or between 8:30am and 9:00am on Saturday, October 17, 2009.  No fleeces will accepted after 9:30 am on Saturday, October 17, 2009.   There is a $3 entry fee, and a 5% commission on all sales.  Unsold fleeces must be picked up no later than 3pm on Sunday, October 18, 2009 or will be come property of DCSWGA.

The DCSWGA and the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival make no guarantee as to the sale of any fleece. Fleeces left at the Fleece sale are done so at the sole responsibility of the owner.
